A New Zealand Resident Visa under the entrepreneur Category is suitable for a foreign national, if the following apply in him/her case:
- If the person owns a business in New Zealand or is a substantial investor in a existing business in the country
- If the person has been self employed in that business in New Zealand for a minimum period of 2 years
- If the person has held a work visa under the New Zealand Long Term Business category, who has been running his/her business in the country for a minimum period of twenty-four months
Basic requirements to make an application for a Resident Visa under Entrepreneur Category:
- A foreign national must have owned at least 25 percent of stakes in a business in New Zealand.
- The foreign national must have been employed by the business for a minimum duration of 2 years.
- The foreign national must produce evidence, such as;
- a) Certificate of incorporation
- b) Audited accounts
- c) GST records or tax records
- The foreign national must demonstrate that the business is reaping the benefits in New Zealand.
- The foreign national must have the minimum requirements when it comes to English language. The minimum score band of Level 4 in the IELTS is required.
- Last but not the least, the foreign national must meet heath and character parameters.
