Work Experience- Skilled Migrant Category!

Applicants of New Zealand resident visa under Skilled Migrant Category are awarded with points for their work experience. The purpose behind awarding points for this factor is to recognize the importance of skills and the amount of experience an applicant has gained through his skills throughout the years. However, the previous employment(s) for this matter must:

  • Be readily transferable;
  • Facilitate migrants to secure skilled job in the kiwi country; AND
  • Enrich migrants’ capability to contribute to the Kiwi economy,- economically and socially.

Below are the recognized work experience(s) which qualify for the New Zealand points system:

  • A total of 10 points are awarded for 2-year work experience
  • 15 points are awarded for 4-year work experience
  • 20 points are awarded for 6-year work experience
  • 25 points are awarded for 8-year work experience, AND
  • Maximum 30 points are awarded for 10-year work experience.
