American Republicans Disown Their Immigration Advisor

Making a U-turn of sorts, the US Republican presidential candidate has publically disowned the famous brain behind some of the most stringent anti-immigration laws ever proposed in the country. The move is believed to be tailored to win over the important Latino voters.

Kris Kobach — the brain behind the stringent anti-immigration decree in the US state of Arizona and certain other states — has now been reportedly and officially declared to be just a supporter.

Mitt Romney had stressed the role of Kobach before, especially while he was campaigning in the US State of South Carolina — the region much famous for its vocal anti-immigrant sentiments. However, with the conclusion of the mentioned campaign, Romney is reportedly adopting a positive image to woo the Latinos.

Polls time and again show that Barack Obama has more acceptability amongst the crucial Latinos, a big population which may tilt the balance during the White House polls. Romney has publically accepted that his campaign is as good as dead, in case he fails to win over the Latinos to his side.

Meanwhile, a concerned person on the side of the President has termed this development as a proof of Romney offering one group of views to Republicans for the polls and caucuses and completely different for the common electorate. This U-turn in status comes as news to Kobach, who, reportedly, has disclosed that he continues to offer advice on immigration policy.

During the month of February, Kobach had observed that that Romney had discussed slapping a nationwide clean-up on unauthorized migrants — in case he emerges as the US president. Kobach had guessed that inside the first four years of being in the office, as many as 50% of the present populace of unregistered migrants may have to leave the shores of the country — thanks to the much more belligerent carrying-out of the immigration rulings.
