Australia–also known as Oz and/or Down Under–is a leading economical & business pool even as it has managed to mass-produce attractive and well-paying employment opportunities for a large number of individuals every year. Trained persons from throughout the world normally state keen interest in moving to the famous destination.
And the concerned immigration body, i.e., the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIAC), has decided not to let them down. The outcome is SkillSelect launched by the immigration body during 2012. This online tool comes under the class of the General Skilled Migration Program to add manpower to the already-existing skilled employees, to generate income for the organizations, & provide a sustainable standard of living & employment for the overseas people. SkillSelect is basically an online Expression Of Interest (EOI) model brought into existence by the DIAC for those who could be keen to become a key component of the national skilled workers force of Oz.
The DIAC later sent invites to the qualified aspirants to file a petition for permanent permits and these are numerous in figures. This is allowing the DIAC to select the entitled candidates to submit a petition for Australia permits. The same cuts-down the processing period of the various skilled migration permits & restructures the permit procedurees.
A decision on the eligibility, or otherwise, of the aspirants will be taken by placing their petitions against a point-based test carried-out by the DIAC. The test in question, to select the future trained employees, has been a great success. Some issues, such as academic qualification, employment experience, language skills, age, besides financial sustainability will be taken into consideration to take a decision on the aspirants’ eligibility for the Skilled Worker Permit classes.
Lately, the DIAC has begun these permit categories to help SkillSelect to pick suitable candidates to be eligible under any of these permit categories, namely, Australia Skilled – Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) Permit (Subcategory 489), Australia Skilled Nominated Permit (Subcategory 190), and Australia Skilled Independent Permit (Subcategory 189).
Aspirants may opt for Skilled Independent Permit (Subcategory 489) in case they don’t possess a ready offer of job from an Australian recruiter/firm. But, they may take a trip to Down Under with the permit & choose to find jobs therein, post landing. Financial stability proves to be the important eligibility condition for the Subcategory 189 Permit aspirants. Candidates–who already have employment offers readily with Australian recruiters/firms—may opt for Skilled – Nominated Visa (Subcategory 190). These people contribute to the Skilled Workers class, via SkillSelect.
In a situation wherein a candidate has a sponsor who offers nomination to him, to arrive and stay in the particular region of Oz, he may decide to opt for Skilled – Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) Permit (Subcategory 489). But, he will not be eligible for the permit, in case the aspirant aims to do a job in other regions, post gaining the permit.
