Be ready for Short Canadian Alberta, BC PNP Setback!

Are you eager to move to Canada using either the popular and the widely used Alberta or the British Columbia Provincial Nominee skilled workers Programme route? If yes, here’s not a too positive news report for you!

In case you have growing dreams of shifting to either of these provinces, you would experience a small postponement. With instant effect–courtesy the buildup of immigration petitions– the administrations of these two particular areas have, reportedly, shut down the doors of the PNP.

The possible justification is that there is a rush of aspirants for movement to the Maple Leaf Country, thanks to the latest federal regulations, which practice an inflexible hold on the immigration laws, particularly on the provisional foreign national domestic worker scheme. Under the PNP, the provincial administrations have given nomination to those who want to live in a particular province while moving to the nation.

Allegedly, the PNP was initially planned to increase the pace of the immigration procedure and perform as a trump card so that new guests and new entrants could be given a red carpet welcome more professionally and effectively to the respective regions by the provincial or territorial administrations. Chosen nominees would be those that could stay and become accustomed to work & life in the area, and make handsome contributions to the emerging society.

Every province admits applicants on the basis of the kind of skilled manpower that their region needs to fill in their skill-chasms. The AINP has three schemes for movement, namely, Strategic Recruitment, Employer Driven, and Self-Employed Farmer. The BCPNP accepts labor force under these specific immigration plans, namely, Express Entry, Skills Immigration, and Business Immigration.

Petition Build Up, Shortage of Skill

The respective administrations of these two regions have been burdened with a skill scarcity, thanks to the backlog of immigration petitions. The fleeting suspension of the scheme allegedly aims towards adjusting to the improvements imposed by the new federal structure whereby they may appraise the kind of skills in shortage in their applicable provinces.

The Alberta Immigration Nominee Programme (AINP) and the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Programme (BCPNP) will not entertain further immigration applications, under skilled category, until the early part of the next year.

While the BCPNP has discontinued the taking of immigration applications under the Express Entry and the Skilled Programme, the AINP has discontinued admitting every petition. But, the BCPNP will keep on admitting petitions in the Healthcare & Pilot Project levels.

Other Approach

Petitions that are pending and those that have been presented prior to the cut-off date will be duly considered, processed and reviewed. It is also asserted that the overseas national immigrants–who have pending applications–would do well to mull over other available choices, and this comprises checking for decreased waiting times and filing a petition for new immigration schemes.
