It has been nearly nine months since the Express Entry System came into existence, it was the brain child of the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). Now since the system has reached its midyear, let’s take a careful look at Canada Express Entry Programme (EEP).
The system was introduced to manage various economic programmes such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Programme (FSWP), Federal Skilled trade Programme (FSTP), and certain portion of the Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP).
If you wish to steam line your application, you must known what is Express Entry System. It is a complete online system, one of the fastest in the history of Canada Immigration programmes. Each candidate creates an online profile and answers a simple series of questions based on the various interpersonal factors.
Candidates with high points will be placed in ‘Express Entry Pool’, and will be ranked against others. In Express Entry Pool, they will be assessed on the basis on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Each candidate may score up to 12, 00 points. Candidates with high points are likely to be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and will have 60 days to claim Canadian Permanent Residency (PR).
Applicants with prior job offer from a Canadian Employer are likely to score 600 points extra on the CRS. However, if you do not have a prior job offer but are sure of your skills, you may register yourself with the Canadian Job Bank–an initiative of the Canadian Government to create a bridge between job seekers and recruiters. The employer may easily access the data base of the Job bank and directly recruit once an eligible applicant is found.
For ITA, applicants are selected through draw which takes place once or twice a month. Just a few days back, on September 18, 2015, the 17th draw took place. The number of invitations sent has increased to 1545 and the cut off points was 450.
At present, the Express Entry Pool is growing at the steady rate. And as per some reports, at present, the number of candidates in the Express Entry Pool has gone up to 1500 per week. It is expected that in the coming months the number of candidates in the Express Entry Pool will only increase.
