Canadian Citizenship Challenge!

Canadian students will be entitled to take up mock test on citizenship, as a new program has been designed and launched nationwide to promote civic pride and national integration. The thirty-two-month project will be administered by the Historica-Dominion Institute. The program is called Canadian Citizenship Challenge, under which the Institute is likely to urge many thousands of education providers, which offer middle and higher learning to register their names to take up the sample citizenship test.

The classrooms registered for the test will receive a citizenship guide, as well as many other customized learning activities and samples of the citizenship test. The classrooms will get the guide named ‘Discover Canada’. Once the students are done with the test, which they will be taking as a regular class, the answer sheets will be returned to the Historica-Dominion Institute. The institute will then give grades to the students. Moreover, students with best scores will also be awarded with prizes. The program will run for the next 3 years and results of the exams will be declared on 15th of February, Canada’s Flag Day, each year.

The program has been designed to promote the value of the Canadian citizenship. According to the president of the Historica-Dominion Institute, it is very important for young Canadians to be prepared and trained to become Canadian citizens. He hopes the Canadian Citizenship Challenge will be instrumental in imparting the value of the Canadian citizenship or what it means to be Canadian.
