Canadian Minister Favors Tighter Immigration Laws for Overseas Manpower

According to certain fresh reports, the incumbent immigration minister of Canada has stressed that the workers from abroad would be subjected to somewhat tighter immigration regulations. Jason Kenny, the minister, added that Ottawa would be better off not rolling-out red-carpet welcome to those workers from abroad, who fail to live up to the established national standards.

He further said that in its place it would be better to admit only those workers who can cater to the national Canadian standards, for positively addressing the issue of underemployment & unemployment in the country. Kenney continued that the latest Canada immigration improvements will prove decisive in fixing the dysfunctional structure of the nation’s immigration, adding the development will ensure that the overseas people don’t feel pressurized to settle for the supposed survival jobs, in spite of possessing top specialized qualifications.

Amongst other professionals, Ottawa has been giving admission to a growing figure of the overseas trained engineers. But, such a development has gone against the interests of not only the alien manpower but also the Canadian economy, as the country is not in a position to properly tap the best possible potential of such employees.

Compulsory foreign credential appraisal for every migrant worker

Come May 4 and the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will commence the freshly improved Federal Skilled Worker Program. The said arrangement will make it obligatory for the workers from abroad–keen to arrive in the country for work purposes, via the given program–to get their overseas credentials suitably evaluated. This move will ensue that the degrees/diplomas of the candidates to the Maple Country are in perfect harmony with the established national standards.

Canada requires qualified migrants

The nation requires trained immigrants even while this is gaining more importance, thanks to the depleting workforce, besides ageing populace. Ottawa is facing growing scarcity of trained manpower. Kenney further said that despite this, the country is welcoming the aliens–in large numbers–only to be subjected to underemployment/ joblessness after they shift to the nation. As this hardly makes any sense, the requirement is to draw only those aliens who may make a crucial contribution to the national economy while taking up jobs which match their expertise and/or education credentials, the minister added.

Kenney continued that this is precisely what the latest immigration arrangement will aim to achieve. What’s more: such a step will also make the nation have the cutting-edge at the world stage in the backdrop of the truth that numerous other countries–such as New Zealand & Australia–have already brought-in tougher immigration laws for enabling suitable aliens to turn-up on their soils, for job purposes.
