CIC to organize meeting with public and stakeholders – discussing immigration future

Canada seems more concerned about its immigration future – as Chungsen Leung and Rick Dykstra, Citizenship and Immigration Canada Parliamentary Secretaries – are all set to start a series of consultation considering immigration issues.

Both Parliamentary Secretaries intending to organize a meeting with the public and stakeholders to make immigration policy and rule of the country more effective by the coming years.

The meeting is set to be held in various places that include Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Halifax. The online consultation has been introduced to know public opinion as it is open for stakeholders and public input.

CIC revealed that the main purpose of introducing consultation is to explore public feedback to improve and strengthen immigration system and also to make it more flexible.

“Consultation with the Parliamentary Secretaries and important discussion will help the CIC’s effort towards making immigration program faster and flexible to attract more immigrants worldwide and maintain Canada’s economic growth and high-prosperity,” said a press release by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

The report further revealed, “While planning for offering the number of permanent residence, CIC must be focused on fulfilling the government’s commitment rather than only balancing government’s objectives regarding immigration. “

Besides, the department’s role has also been noted important especially to operate visa application process smoothly and timely and reviewing communities’ capacity to accommodate new overseas immigrants.
