Canada implemented a $7 fee recently for most of the travelers who fly into the country. It is called the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) and needs to be paid only by certain people – see below the list of countries and type of people required to do it. Most don’t know about it.

If you are one of them, don’t fall for the eTA Scam, targeting future travelers to Canada from all over the world. The application needs to be filed and paid on the Government Canada’s website, but third party “services” take advantage of the fact that several people don’t know much about the eTA.

They sell them for 20 times as much. Over 1,000 complaints have been filed against questionable online companies in the last few weeks. Do YOU need an eTA?

What You Need to Know About The eTA

In most cases, the eTA is granted within a few minutes of applying. It is valid for five years or until your passport expires – whichever is first.
