Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program is quite popular among the Canada immigration-motivated immigrants. It is only accepting a limited number of applications. They are mainly employed in child-care centers, daycare centers, kindergartens, agencies for exceptional children and other settings where early childhood education services are provided.

Early childhood Educator Assistants: Key Duties

  1. Provide support to early childhood educators in executing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, and enroll children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
  2. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms and furniture for lunch and rest periods, and assist children with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  3. Submit a report on the development of children to early childhood educators or supervisors, maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties.
  4. Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and also assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining records.

Key Requirements

  1. Prior experience in child care.
  2. Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education.
  3. Licensing by a provincial or territorial association for early childhood educators (ECE).
