United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) have made an announcement to hike the fee for a majority of US immigration services which would be effective from November 2010. There would be changes in the naturalization fee. It has been expected an average increase of almost 10 percent in the fee structure. The adjusted fees will come in effect from 23 November, 2010 onwards.
This move is already facing a lot of criticism from Immigration experts. AILA stated that they are USCIS is just overreaching themselves to fulfill the motto of getting rectified budgetary woes.
Some believe that these are matters of public interest. Hence, in the name of rectifying the budgets, the funds should be provided by appropriations, and not applicants.
