Iranian Arrested for Fake Passport

An Iranian and his collaborator, a Latvian, were arrested at RGI airport for keeping a fake passport. Both were intending to board a flight to UK when they were nabbed at the Immigration check.

Ali Sasani Pour, 23, the Iranian, wanted to work in the UK and took assistance from his peer Razak who lives in London, confirmed RGI airport SI B Kiran. Razak told him that he won’t be able to work in the UK through Iranian passport as Immigration rules would not favor him. Therefore, he was asked to contact a guy called Sam in Mumbai who could arrange a fake passport and assist him to work in the UK.

As a part of the scam, Ali came to Mumbai in October 2009 and stayed here for three months on a Tourist Visa. He stayed in a hotel and during this tenure, met Sam, who managed him a fictitious passport with the name of “Vososkis Antons.”

A Latvian national, Usiks Andrejs, 25, was arranged to accompany Ali to the UK. He was paid an amount of $ 600 and return tickets to accompany him during this entire scam.

However, both the accused couldn’t escape the eyes of the strict Immigration check at the RGI Airport and were charged under Section 419, 420, 468, 471 and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. Police is trying to find information on the third counterpart Sam by interrogating the two suspects.
