Ang Mo Kio, Singapore: A 32-year Malaysian man has been taken into custody for allegedly getting involved in two armed robberies in the town.
Being a safe capital, cases of such kind seem rare and catch the eye of police officials. In one of the instances, the concerned Malaysian went on to raid an old cab driver, aged 57 years and forced him to give S$180 at knifepoint. The incident happened at Block 416 of the town. The victim is has also suffered from various bruises and cuts, including a sharp 4-centimeters injury on the neck area.
Reports have confirmed that the Malaysian was then taken into custody at Lorong 5 Toa Payoh. When investigated, a bank passport was found amongst other belongings. The booklet appeared to be a belonging of one of the victims of the robbery. A penknife was also found lying with the offender; the same has been believed to be the main weapon in all the robberies performed by the man.
If found guilt, he might face a jail sentence of almost twenty years. In addition to this, he has been found breaching the immigration set-of-laws of the nation. Officials have found that he has been overstaying in Singapore in an undocumented manner under the Immigration Act. He might face further charges for the same, if the felony is established.
Till the time, he will stay in remand for further investigation.
