An assessment made by ABS Survey of Education and Work, among the employed mining engineers in 2010, 100% were found to qualify this level of skill.

In some regions of Australia such as: Queensland and Western Australia, in order to practice the occupation of a mining engineer, the applicants  are required to get registered with a professional board in those particular  states.
