With a purpose to promote the Skilled Immigration Scheme of Australia, the Immigration and Citizenship Department of the country has started a new blog.

According to a spokesperson of this department, this blog will emphasize the existing policy of Skilled Immigration, highlight the potential changes in the program and will also serve as a means for community engagement to enhance the awareness regarding Australian Skilled Immigration.

The spokesperson also mentioned that this particular plan includes 457 temporary visa programs, the permanent employer-sponsored plans and the permanent program for general skilled migration scheme.

The first post on this blog was on Enterprise Migration Agreements which is also known as EMAs. This policy response to the tight labour market particularly, in the resource sector.

Communicating across a lot of other channels including print media is what they are looking for. The Australian Immigration Department aims for effective communication with their citizens. Helping the immigration department for creating a vast and effective list of clients, shareholders and other interested people, are the main concerns of creating this blog.

They started this blog with a hope to attract a lot of different visitors, such as:  clients, peak bodies, journalists, academics, Government Agencies and the citizens for further discussion on Skilled Migration and its role in the labour market along with economy of the country as a whole.

This blog on skilled migration was established by GovSpace Initiative which allows online engagement facility for govt. departments. The GovSpace is run by the Finance and Deregulation department of the country. Now, the blog on skilled migration is hosting about 2000 articles. The spokesperson has confirmed that the blog will be updated on regular basis by the Department.
