The Indian government is planning to increase the number of work visas for Skilled Chinese workers. The move came as an attempt to fulfill the shortage of Chinese workers that was directly or indirectly affecting the construction of power plants in a negative way.
There are speculations that the number of visas may increase to double of its original number. The Indian government is bothered about the shortage of electricity that might rise in India mainly because of visa problems faced by Skilled Chinese who are linked with various electricity and power plants projects. Because of the shortage, India may fall around 4,000MW short of the 13,000MW of power generation capacity, which was the main target during the year 2009-2010.
The decision would also enhance the relations between the two countries and reduce the tension going between the two governments. Some of the projects that have been greatly affected due to the shortage by now are Lanco Infratech Ltd, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and JSW Energy Ltd, to name a few.
The decision would surely add on to the benefit as Chinese workers find it somewhat hard to secure visas. The increase in the number of work visa for Skilled Chinese would surely solve this problem by a certain margin.
