We have learnt that a principal applicant of a New Zealand resident visa under the Investor 2 Category is required to nominate a minimum amount of 1.5 million NZ Dollars in order to invest that in the Kiwi country. When the applicant nominate funds or assets equivalent to that amount, he/she must also exhibit ownership of the funds/assets.
- The nominated funds or assets equivalent to that must entirely be owned by the principal applicant; OR
- The funds or assets can also be owned concurrently by the principal applicant and his/her partner included in the application for a Kiwi resident visa. In this case, the immigration official must get convinced that both the partners are in a genuine and stable relationship for at least 1 year or more; OR
- The funds can also be concurrently owned by the principal applicant and his/her dependent children included in the application for a Kiwi resident visa; AND
- In the case where the nominated funds and assets are not held concurrently by the principal applicant and his/her partner or by the principal applicant and his/her dependent children, the principal applicant will be able to claim for the amount of funds/assets for which he/she provides ownership documents; AND
- The nominated funds/assets must be earned or acquired lawfully, no matter whether they have been earned by the principal applicant on his/her own or he/she were gifted with the same; AND
- The funds or assets that the principal applicant nominates ought to be unencumbered or unburdened; AND
