If reports are to be believed, the Philippines would soon be coming out with a special medical visa for overseas medical tourists. The country is intending to become one of the giants in the blooming health tourism industry of Asia where the special tourist visa would be introduced in the end of this year by the Bureau of Immigration.
Under the visa condition, the visitors would be allowed to stay in the nation for a span of six months and need NOT have to apply for extensions, contrary to regular travelers.
According to Ronaldo Ledesma, who is the immigration bureau deputy head, the special visa would help the nation to gain competitiveness in the medical tourism industry which is already having ace players in the market in the form of Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand, to name a few.
Ledesma went on to say that this opportunity might be used to cash in on the blooming medical tourism industry with plenty of health professionals around. Further, it has been hoped that more and more visitors from the United States and Europe would mark their visits, once this visa is offered.
Further, the surgical costs here are up to 50 percent more cheap as compared to say Europe or the Unites States, which is an added advantage in this case.
Likewise, India too has a special category of medical visa. For more details, visit www.abhinav.com or send your query at ajay@abhinav.com
