Police Raid – 20 Undocumented Workers Caught!

After a sudden raid on a food processing plant in Brisbane, authorities have sent a total of 20 undocumented workers back to their country of origin after founding their illegal immigration status.

Reports confirm that the illegal workers came from China and were employed in an illegal manner. The twenty workers include nine men and eleven women.

Apart from sending the undocumented workers back to China, police have also issued a criminal warrant against the factory to justify the evidence of the worker’s employment. Amongst the twenty workers, two of them had their visas cancelled for breaking the visa regulations and the rest were staying on expired visas. Investigations are further going on to check facets on any possibility for criminal prosecution linked with undocumented workers.

This raid is an eye opener for all those employees who hire undocumented workers and create havoc for their firm as well as the whole country. In addition, there are high possibilities of criminal offenses involved in the recruiting process. Also, there are all the chances of losing the workforce as soon as the immigration officials come to know the illegal status. Also, the company goes on to lose its reputations also. So many Cons and no Pros!

Therefore it is mandatory for all the employers to understand that it is a crime to hire undocumented workers and those found guilty have to pay a heavy fine, in addition to the imprisonment also.
