Quebec, the largest province of Canada is known to its native people as “la belle province”, which means the beautiful province. This particular province is home to about 7,600,000 people and often identified as the Europe of Northern America.
According to a recent report, the Finance Minister of Quebec has declared a new plan with a purpose of trimming down the visa processing times and to accelerate the application process for permanent residency candidates to Quebec.
The said report has also revealed that on 21 March 2012, this particular plan was broadcast. Pursuant to this plan, there will be two groups of eligible applicants. In group 1, there will be applicants with diploma in a field of training, having high demand in Quebec. This group will also include temporary overseas workers and other applicants with required skills, meeting labour market needs. The best thing about group 1 is that a large number of people can apply under this group, as there are no such restrictions regarding the numbers of applicants.
While the group 2 include applicants with the potentiality to fulfill the other required fields of training in the province. Overseas graduates of a University of Quebec, come under this group. Unlike group 1, under group 2 there are a limited number of applications accepted. For the year of 2012, there are only 14,300 applications to be accepted under this group.
Besides, the application fees for skilled worker category have increased to $750 for the principal candidates. Certain changes to the business immigration category have also been made, according to which, maximum 2700 applications will be accepted in the next year along with 215 entrepreneur and self-employed applications.
The total number of applications to be accepted every year for Quebec admission is about 50,000, which will remain the same for minimum 3 years to come, revealed by the report.
