Skilled Australia Sponsored GSM Category – Processing and Allocation

Australia Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) serves its main purpose of drafting new visa policies and implementation, and allows overseas immigrants on its land as accordance of the needs of economy. DIAC also takes into consideration of visa planning levels set by the government every year to form the migration program. The main aim of forming a new migration programis to determine the maximum number of visas that need to be granted in every stream.

Moreover, the allocation of applications (applied under the skilled migration program) to a case officer is determined under the ministerial direction, mainly to ensure that priority should be given to the places which require more workers and also the applicants who are quite capable of fulfilling criteria. The migration program also takes precedence over the backlog of the applications, which are yet to be processed.

Currently, a limited number of visa places are available under the Australian Sponsored GSM category. The remaining visa places are meant to be utilized for Skilled Regional subclass 489 applications, which are currently in the final phase of processing.

If any changes occur (in the processing), the department will announce it immediately and will be available on its official site. Moreover, the applicants can also visit the department’s site to gather the status of the GSM visa applications.
