Submissions Filed for Australia Skilled Migration Permits Head South

In a key development, fresh official figures proffered by the concerned Australian immigration organization—the Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) disclose an obvious reduction in the overall number of the aspirants for the Skilled Work Permits for Australia. The existing figures also show that the requirement for the Sub-category 457 Permits of Australia has headed south during the past 6 months or so.

Further, the overall number of the candidates for Australia’s Skilled Migration 457 Permits went down by close to 4% from July to November during the year gone by, i.e., 2012. Together with this, the rate of endorsement for the said permits also decreased by 12% for the similar time-frame.

Fewer petitions reveal decreasing Australian permit scheme utilization

The Skilled Worker Sub-category 457 Permit arrangement is not duly governed & subject to any sort of yearly upper limit. Instead, the basis of the same is the specific requirements of the national economy. Meanwhile, an official spokesperson for the DIAC claims that the decrease witnessed in the number of the submissions presented for the 457 Sub-category Permits reflects the shifting requirements of the national economy & the reaction of the given immigration arrangement to the said requirements.

He apparently added that numerous important industries across Down Under–more so the information media & telecommunications, healthcare & social support–are not making impressive utilization of the said scheme. Besides, the industries of mining & construction, too, are exhibiting not much of a dependence on the given permit scheme.

Hence, these have resulted in a decrease in the number of the petitions submitted for the Skilled Worker Sub-category 457 Permits. In mining industries, a decrease of 11% has been seen in the scheme for the 2012-2013 year till November. Likewise, the number of the 457 sub-category permit submissions submitted in construction headed south by 3% to bring the numbers to 3,900, vis-à-vis the numbers for the year gone by.

Highly qualified experts, managers–primary targets

Reportedly, there is still a HUGE demand for highly trained executives & experienced professionals. The same becomes clear in the backdrop of the high levels of payment offered to the highly trained employees on the Australian 457 Permits during 2013. Further, the average perks of the highly qualified experts on Australian Sub-category 457 Permits (for the scheme year till November) was $89,800 even while $109,000 was the normal wage for the experts & executives on such permits.
