Submissions for New Zealand LTSSL and ISSL Open for 2010!

Immigration New Zealand recently announced the submission for the country’s second bi-annual review of the Long Term Skill Shortage List and Immediate Skill Shortage List are now open. As said by the Immigration New Zealand’s head, Nigel Bickle, the same process used earlier would be followed for the review.

Through this review, information is accumulated from the submissions made by country’s external stakeholders. This information is vital, along other data from various aspects, such as labor market, economy and immigration in preparing the Long Term Skill shortage List and Immediate Skill shortage List.

The submissions made by external stakeholders cover a number of issues. In their submissions, they can request that a particular occupation is added, or certain occupations have been removed. The submissions also include if some alterations are made to the level of experience and qualifications required for particular occupations included in the list.

The Immediate Skills Shortage List comprises job titles that are in immediate demand in the labor market of New Zealand. Whereas, the LTSSL contains those job titles which are in long-term shortage in the country. The submissions for both the list would be accepted until 12 November, 2010.
