They have a vision for the new and modernized India which is different from their previous generation. After all, the generation gap has reigned in here as well! They are dynamic, young and energetic, highly qualified in their respective genres obtaining their degrees from some of the best universities overseas.

So, here we see a group of leaders fresh in their approach, views and thoughts! They believe in bringing out a style which is unique in themselves…can you imagine snickers with kurta pajamas? Difficult but Rahul Gandhi has definitely set the trend in! More so, we have heard of talent hunts in the industry of entertainment and media. He took the road less traveled and organized one for the Congress Party where in he recruited young people from the crowd who actually wanted to bring about a change in the nation. I am sure some would have called it a publicity stunt but deep down it surely has brought some of the best minds of tomorrow.

Other include Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia and not to forget Priyanka Gandhi who has been contributing in her own way. But it does not end here…if looked beyond the borders, there are many such examples.

Off the recent ones include the British Prime Minister David Cameron who is in his early forties. If counted of all the British Prime Ministers in the last two hundred years, he is the youngest of them all.

Similarly, the President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev was all of forty two years of age when he took the oath. Needless to say, the President of the United States, Barack Obama, is one of the youngest leaders of his nation. However, Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest President of the United States. He was all of forty two years and two months of age when he took charge of the oval office.

Above all, not to forget is our very own Rajiv Gandhi who just forty when he took charge in those difficult times.

These young leaders have a charm and charisma of their own which is accompanied by their fresh thoughts and opinions which is favored by the current generation of a nation. This is especially true for a country like India where in there is a vast diversity when it comes to its people. After all, the zest and zeal in their attitude would surely bring about the necessary change in the near future!

Immigration in the United Kingdom has definitely affected the British job market. It is quite known about the British Prime Minister Gordon brown speaking about creating British Jobs for British Workers. However, in the last thirteen years, the British workers have been in the worst of the conditions.

The issue of immigration and its economic impact has been discussed by both the UK Independence Party and the British National Party. These include the wages, productivity and employment opportunities.

The main question to be asked here is the number of jobs that have gone to immigrants since 1997. According to the data recorded, the number of jobs in the United Kingdom has increased by 2.12 million from the first quarter of 1997. Also, the number of people who were in the UK saw an increase by three hundred and eighty five thousand. With this, those born outside the UK saw a rise by 1.72 million.

However, there are no exact recordings of the number of jobs going to the non – British but records show which job went to whom. In a way, it could be said that 81 percent of the jobs went to those born outside the United Kingdom.

However, the case could also be that these non – UK born people might also be citizens of the United Kingdom and might be living in the nation for decades together. This can be one of the most likely options which cannot be ignored. They have equally contributed to the nation despite not being of British origin.

Thus, a balance has to be maintained where in the immigrants could be brought about to fill in the skill shortages. This would maintain equilibrium with both parties getting equal opportunities.

The Labor and the Conservative parties which are the two key political parties in Britain would release their General Election Manifestos this week. These manifestos are expected to have some new restrictions. These restrictions are specifically pertaining to immigration and more diligence being maintained for the student visas.

The manifesto of the Labour party is planned to be released by the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in Birmingham. The declaration would cater to the issues pertaining to the local citizens and not just mere immigration. It also stated that by the end of the year, electronic border controls would be implemented that would aid in the counting of people walking in and out of the country.

Similar to the Australian system, a point based system would be introduced for those applying for residence as well as citizenship. Having excellent skills in English language would be the key criterion.

The manifesto of the Conservatives would be launched by David Cameron who is the leader of the Conservatives. This manifesto is expected to be absolute when it comes to immigration. It states a limitation on the number of foreigners being permitted to enter the United Kingdom. This caters to those migrants belonging to the nations that are not a part of the European Union. Thus, only a few would be allowed to work in the UK. The key reason behind this is the constant increase in the population which has become a burden on the public services and other local communities.

When it comes to the people belonging to the nations of the European Union, their movement could not be stopped by the British government. However, those not belonging to these nations such as India could be restricted.

In a recent move, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown affirmed “tightening” of the immigration rules in order to confine the number of professionals migrating to the UK. He further elaborated on eliminating some of the occupations like engineers, hospital consultants, and care workers, to name a few from the occupation list.

Brown considers it as a ‘tough’ yet a ‘fair’ approach under the PBS (Points Based System) towards decreasing ‘illegal immigration’ in a major way. Brown further gave a hint on restricting visas for short-term education courses and making the rules even more stringent for the International students.

Further tightening the Immigration rules, a bill has been proposed under which every migrant entering the premises would require ‘permission’ to stay in the UK. That means that the five current application categories made available to the prospective applicants would be replaced by ‘permission’ to be in the United Kingdom.

Experts are of the view that these changes unfair towards the non-EU migrants, including the Indian migrants who move to the UK in a major number every year. Consult an Immigration and Visa expert to know more about the recent changes in the Immigration world.
