10,000 US H1–B Visas yet to be Granted!

As on 30th October 2009, the USCIS revealed the number of H -1B cap – subject petitions filed went up to 53,800. With this, the US Immigration Department also accepted petitions of those applicants with high academic qualifications. This was for the 20,000 visas that were exempt from the general cap. This implies that the fresh applications for all the aliens with higher educational qualifications would be considered under the general H – 1B cap of 65,000.

Such applications would be accepted in the future as well till all the visas have been given. However, this also includes those applications which are either denied, rejected or revoked. Of all, the H-1B visa is the most sought after to such an extent that it is immediately taken as soon as it is released. This mainly includes professionals from India who avail these visas to work in the United States.

On the other hand, thanks to the economic downturn, the H – 1B visa for which there was so much of competition are still available. It is not just one or two but a total of 10,000 visas are still waiting to be granted by applicants.

If speculations are to be believed, these visas are expected to be permitted and candidates are still expected to apply. So, this is the opportunity for those seeking an opportunity to work in the United States. It is likely that you might be granted your visa without any hassles.
