The people from Pakistan once preferred the United States as one of the favorable destinations for opportunities pertaining to jobs, higher education as well as travel. With the recent threats by terrorists of which the recent ones include the car bombing that failed at the Times Square. This has created a feeling of uneasiness amongst many Pakistanis who have made the United States their new home. With the constant threats in place, the Pakistani Americans have been finding it difficult to live under constant suspicion.
This is easily proved with the less number of flight bookings between Pakistan and United States. More so, the number of visa applications has been declining over a period of time.
With this, more stringency being applied with all the passengers traveling to the United States and with the security measures being applied in the US airport, many get a sense of rejection and discomfort at the same time. This has led to many Pakistanis deciding not wanting to go to the United States for any reason for that matter.
With all these stringent policies in place, the immigration industry in Pakistan has been deeply hit with the consultants hardly getting any enquiries from prospective applicants. Even if there is an interested candidate, obtaining a visa is extremely difficult. And those who are successful in obtaining one feel that they might land up in trouble if they decide to immigrate.
Instead, many are looking for similar opportunities in other nations such as Canada, UAE, Australia or even Britain. The reasons being that there have been many stories where in the passengers were humiliated while being searched at the airports in the United States. More so, the authorities spoke ill and with fury regarding the people of Pakistan. Above all, they were all termed as being radicals of Islam.
