Failed Cases Not Disclosed to Asylum Seekers!

Australia: Reports say that the Immigration authorities are keeping the asylum seekers in dark, concerning their current immigration and refugee status. The officials are not acquainting these asylum seekers that their refugee assessments have seen a failure since so many months.

It is a part of a tactic, so that the already chaotic and buzzed detention centers are kept out from the over-addition of more and more asylum seekers. In some cases, the asylum seekers have not been acquainted about the rejection of their applications for more than five months now.

Experts say that it is a systematic, yet an illegal practice to keep the asylum seekers in a state of limbo and not telling them about their rejected applications. On the other hand, some authorities believe that this delay in notifying the asylum seekers would give detention authorities some time to cater to the already failed asylum claims and the asylum seekers residing in various detention centers at present.

Critics are of the view that detainees who are waiting for the results are finding it hard to stay back in various detention centers all over Australia. Some are taking the path of suicides, while some are protesting, and others are sewing their lips against it. This has landed the officials at these detention centers in trouble too.

Reports have confirmed that there are almost 5746 asylum-seekers in detention, a figure which includes 2786 on Christmas Island.
