Applying for Permanent Residency in Australia
Have you been planning to apply for the Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia, if you are nodding your head in an affirmative gesture, in that case, you should be aware of few basic up gradation that has happened in Australia immigration. On April 18, 2017 the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) turned proactive to bring into force new amendments. With these amendments in the path of PR, applying for Permanent Residency in Australia will change a lot.
Under the new amendments in the immigration law the famous temporary skill shortage visa or also known as sub-class 457 which was later converted into permanent visa upon the demand has been abolished. The new temporary skill shortage visa would be enforced from March 2018.
Under this specific visa, the term of stay would be in between two years and four years. At the same time, with strict compliance set forward by the DIBP many of the skills have been done away with.
Back then under the Skilled Occupation List Australia, the applicants were allowed to nominate any person under Skilled Independent Visa Sub-Class 189. But with effect from March 2018, the SOL will be replaced by Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List. With this new effect, the immigrants holding the visa sub-class 189 can apply for the nomination under the general category.
Take a look at few of the occupation which will come into effect from March 2018!

New Rules with respect to the immigration
Back then it was simpler to get the PR with the visa sub-class 457, but with the recommendation from the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, there would be stricter rules with respect to the sub-class 457 visa. Under the 457 visa, the immigrants were able to get jobs in restaurant, IT and healthcare, but with things getting stricter than ever, it will be difficult for the nationals from India, UK and China to make it to Oz. On an average, more than 200 jobs would be removed with the implementation of the new changes in the fall of 2018.
So, applying for permanent residency in Australia will be tougher, but with the support from a recognized visa agent, you can easily move to the overseas hotspot.
