As per a report, the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) is out with a new list for the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa (RSMS) and since March 18, 2018 it is already in force.
The Regional Occupations List (ROL), reportedly, targeted at addressing the particular requirements of regional Australia, has as many as 465 professions–ranging from dentist to textile, clothing and footwear mechanic and cardiac technician to horse trainer.
As per the information that we have, the said new list of professions is applicable for the Subcategory 187 Visa, a Permanent Residence Visa (PRV) for the trained manpower which wants to do a job in the regional areas of the country even as it is obtainable under one of these two classes, namely, the Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Class, or the Direct Entry (DE) Class.
With a view to be qualified for the said visa, you will require having nomination from an Australian recruiter/job-provider in regional Australia, and being less than 45 years old. You also require fulfilling the abilities, qualifications and the English language conditions. You also require having prior work experience even as you could also be asked to furnish positive skills evaluation.
Meanwhile and sharing his views on the development a concerned person has reportedly stated that the new condition of work experience for the RSMS Visa could make it tough for numerous global students, who were previously in a position to receive the Employer-sponsored Visas, post successfully finishing their Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate and diploma courses.
He pointed out that several international students were previously in a position to submit an application for 187 Visa while they did a job as store managers, restaurant managers in cafes or offered their services as Chefs and Cooks in the nation’s different regional areas. He added that earlier post the conclusion of their VET courses they would easily get jobs in the various regional areas of the country and move to 187 Visa.
But, from March this year, they would have to demonstrate their employment experience, to be qualified for the RSMS Visa, under the TRT Stream. Few international students possess the needed employment experience, he reportedly claimed. The result: the latest amendment may mean several international students, who were previously entitled for the visa in question, would not be any more entitled for the Employer Sponsored Visas.
As per the latest update on the subject, the Regional Occupations list is expected to be reviewed in July this year, in the wake of an appraisal by the Australian Department of Jobs and Small Business, comprising a public discussion procedure.
