Recession came as a major blow to the world economy Denmark could not escape it either. However Denmark’s “phoenixial” rise in the economic scenario cannot be denied, the unemployment average has not only dropped down to 6.6% but is in a better position than the others, (even EU is currently 9.6%).

The well known “flexicurity” model combining both flexibility and security ensures that the workers are well protected with unemployment benefits as well as a re-training incase of job loss. The efficiency of such a model also can be seen by the fact that approximately 40% jobseekers managed to get placed this year and even foreign workers chose to stay back.
If you go by stats, there are currently 38,500 foreign workers in Denmark, most of them hail from countries like Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania. India is currently 7th in foreign worker list.
