Canada Announces Only 500 Visas For Per Skilled Occupation!

According to a report, Canada has reduced the number applications for federal skilled worker to 10,000 per year. The immigration department of the country is hoping that reduction in the number of applications will help them to deal with its backlog of visa applications.

According to the scheme of Canadian federal skilled worker, the skilled migrants can obtain a permanent residence visa both for themselves and their family members, if they could make sufficient points on their points test.  Australia and Denmark also use this points-test system.

To apply for any skilled occupation in Canada, the applicants are required to have experience in an occupation included in the National Occupation Classification list. According to the latest immigration policy, every year, only 500 applications can be lodged for any one of the skilled occupations and 10,000 visas will be granted.

It has made the process of applying for Canadian skilled immigration a difficult job for many; while due to the reduced quota few people can apply for it. In order to reduce the backlog that makes the applicants wait for a longer period of time to get their visa, this new policy is introduced by the Citizenship and Immigration Department of Canada.

For the people who wish to live and work in Canada, there are many schemes or policies available along with the latest federal skilled worker program, such as:  Provincial Nominee Program and the Quebec Skilled Workers scheme. For some skilled migrants, these immigration schemes can be a better option for Canada migration.
