Amendments in Skilled State Sponsorship Announced by Victorian Government!

Recent amendments have been announced in the Skilled State Sponsored Visa program by the Victorian government. The additions are also decked with a revised list of eligible occupations which find their eligibility with sponsorship.

In terms of collaboration, there has been a formal accord between the government of Victoria and the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), with respect to the visas that deal with skilled sponsored and skilled regional sponsored categories.

According to this collaboration, a limit has been inculcated on the quantity of sponsored positions based on those occupations which are quota based. In addition to this, in accordance with this collaboration, there is an overall cap on the overall amount of applicants who can be sponsored per annum.

For 2010-2011, 4,500 visa applicants would be sponsored by Victoria and this number is decked with both primary as well as secondary applicants.
