CIC Reveals 2013 Immigration Plan

CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) has finally issued a report stating its clear intention of considering 240,000 and 265,000 applications for permanent residents in the coming year of 2013. Such report is issued every year by CIC, since the last seven years.

Canadian immigration and citizenship minister, Jason Kenney, came in support of bringing more newcomers in the country as they bring their talents and skills, and actively contribute to the economic development and creating employment opportunities.

He continued that such newcomers also renew our workforce that helps Canada in maintaining its position as competitive on the world stage.

The report has been presented by CIC in the Canadian parliament, but not released yet. CIC however highlighted that the current report supports the enlargement of the CEC (Canadian Experience Class).

Came into existence in 2008, the Canadian Experience Class certainly meets the expectations of highly skilled migrants by providing them an important path to obtain permanent resident status from temporary resident status.

Earning popularity, the CEC got huge exposure and also grown rapidly, since its introduction. 2,500 applicants were awarded with permanent resident status in 2009. The figure grew up unexpectedly to nearly 6,000 in the year of 2011. CIC has predicted that figure will rise further to nearly 10,000 people to obtain the permanent residents.
