Canada Holiday Visa is also known as the Working Holiday Visa (WHV). It gives an excellent opportunity to young people to get the international experience of working in the overseas hotspot while being on a short term holiday. People from the age group of 18-30 and 18-35 are most eligible to apply Holiday Visa for Canada. While applying, you do not need to have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
If you are looking forward to apply for the Holiday Visa for Canada, the following blog will be useful for you.
Applicants can submit their visa application to the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship, Canada (IRCC) through the programme International Experience Canada (IEC).
Initially, the visa is issued for two years every year even as many countries take part in the IEC programme and based on annual agreement, allotted a quota.
Holiday Visa for Canada Step by Step Process
Step 1) Answer a simple questionnaire “come to Canada”
To determine if you are eligible to apply for the IEC programme is the very first step. To do so, use the online tool “come to Canada” and answer a simple set of questions, such as what is your current country/territory of residence?, What is your country/territory of Permanent Residence (PR)?.
When you finish the questionnaire in the last, the screen will come up with the “personal reference code”. It’s better to take the screen shot of the same as you will require the same to create your profile in the next step. Depending on your eligibility determined by your questionnaire, you may enter one or more pools.
Step 2) Create your own account
Once you have received a “personal reference code”, you may create your IEC online profile. At this stage you do not have to pay any fees. Note down your account user name, account password and recovery and security questions. If you lose the same, there is no way you can log in the same account, and you will have to make a new account.
Step 3) Create your IEC profile
It is very essential that you create and complete your IEC profile. Without doing the same, you will not be considered any further.
Step 4) Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
You will compete in a pool of candidates to get the WHV. Your profile will remain in the pool for one year or until the IEC session expires. The ITA will be issued on regular intervals or until the programme reaches its cap.
Step 5) Accept ITA and claim your Holiday Visa for Canada
Once you have been given an ITA, you will receive a message in your official account. Thereafter, accept the same within 10 days or it will expire.
Step 6) Get you biometrics taken
The IRCC has made it mandatory for applicants to get their biometrics taken to help the officials confirm their identity better. It means when you apply for the visa you have to get your fingerprints scanned and photo taken.
Step 7) Receive your IMM5665 Port of Entry (PoE)
Once you have submitted your application, it will be processed on a “first–in, first-out” basis and if your application is approved, you will receive a POE a letter of introduction in your account. To enter the overseas hotspot, you will require this letter. The POE is not your permit and some countries may have to send their passport to the embassy to get a visa on it. Before you apply, cross check with the Canadian embassy in your native country.
