GMAC to Set Up Office in India!

Recently, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) announced that it intends to set up an office in India. Yes, India is being noticed for its urge and higher values for education! The reputable council that conducts Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) or the popular MBA entrance test organized by many Business schools all over the world. GMAC introduced the computer-adaptive test for the first time, which generates questions according to a student’s aptitude.

Based in Virginia, United States, the council has its sole branch in London. It is a great deal for India that the council is keen to have one more office in India, which is going to be the first GMAC office in Asia. GMAC’s head, David Wilson said that they are waiting for the necessary approvals to establish a center in India in the near future.

Last year, over 2.65 lakh management aspirants took the GMAT across the globe, out of which 8 percent aspirants were from India alone. If we see the figures over the last few years, it would come clear that the number of Indian management aspirants taking the GMAT is ever growing.  At present, twenty-six Business schools in India use the test. The Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad is one of the prominent schools in India that accept GMAT, besides IIM Bangalore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Calcutta and Indore. IIM Bangalore and ISB Hyderabad are also the members of Graduate Management Admission Council. The later happens to be the only Indian institution to be included in the list of op 100 B-schools in the world by London’s Financial Times.

With the establishment of the GMAC’s base in India, we can expect that the country’s management applicants would have better facilities.
