According to data assimilated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a total of 34% of people who were taken in as US citizens came from the mix of five nations with Mexico at 24,508, India at 12,928, the Philippines at 11,316, Cuba at 10,689 and the Dominican Republic lastly at 7,046.
USCIS Director Ur Jaddou said, “Throughout our nation’s history, the promise of both life and liberty, and the freedom to pursue happiness, has drawn millions from all corners of the world to call the USA their home. Our belief in the assurance of America is repeated daily as we work hard to welcome immigrants as our fellow citizens” Also, she stated, “There is nothing more patriotic than choosing to be an American. On this independence day, I am proud to celebrate the more than 6,600 people who have invested their hopes and lives in our nation to become new citizens.
