Australia PR points system
To add value to the Australian immigration process, the government has enforced the Australia PR points system, which is governed by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). The point based immigration system makes the complete screening process more transparent and effective.
As large number of the qualified people from all around the world show interest to relocate to the hotspot, the point system eases the line of duty of the DIBP. A minimum of 60 points is required to be eligible and apply for a visa. There are several categories under which the applicant can score and value his points.
The DIBP runs numerous categories which are given significance accordingly. Few important categories under the point system are as follows:

- Work Experience
- English Proficiency
Apart from the above listed classes, there are also many other streams, which come under the point system. Nevertheless, these are the basic categories weighing the maximum on the points system.
Coming to point distribution, the skill acquired by the applicant can attain a maximum of 60 points.
Distribution of Points for other categories
- For Age, it has a maximum of 25 points.
- For educational qualification, it has a maximum of 20 points.
- For work experience overseas, it has a maximum of 15 points.
- For work experience in Australia, it has a maximum of 20 points.
- For English proficiency, it has a maximum of 20 points.
- For sponsorship, it has a maximum of 10 points.
The Australia PR point system also includes and gives due importance to those who have studied in the nation with maximum weightage of 5 points. The applicant can also attain a maximum 5 points for partner’s skill also making the whole system unique in the world.
