The new stats confirmed that the capital city of Western Australia, Perth led Australia’s population rise for the last year, largely contributed by overseas migration of people to the city.

According to the report by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the total population in Perth rose by 3.2 percent in 2008-2009. With this, the metropolitan city happens to be the fastest growing metropolis in the nation. Darwin follows the second slot with a percentage of 3.1. Apart from this, there are many other aspects in which the popular city of Perth surpassed many others when it comes to population growth.
