Processing Delays in Australia, Courtesy Fijians!

Delays have been witnessed off late in the processing times of thousands of immigration review cases, courtesy the sudden increase in the quantity if Fijians intending to get asylum in Australia.

According to Denis O’Brien, who is the member of both the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT) and Refugee Review Tribunal, has disclosed that courtesy the immense number of workload created by the refuges, a significant delay has been seen in the processing times of thousands of migration cases which are almost an year or so old.

He went on to say that one of the main facets responsible for this delay is the excessive increase in the refugee cases that come from the land of Fiji. According to his statement, a large number of applications are from Fiji, which, in turn, is throwing a direct impact on the numbers.

At present, the department has almost 2000 cases which are almost 1 year old. This is one of the biggest concerns as the people who have filed their applications have had to put their lives on hold for a span of 1 year and the irony is that their cases have not been touched as yet.

All this is due to the big hike in the number of Fiji citizens who are filing their applications for visas to stay in the land of Kangaroos. A majority of them are driven by various factors, with economic factor one of the top reasons for immigration to Australia.
