The immigration officials in the US immigration have recently held the renowned British comedian, Russell Brand. He was being held by the officials on last Tuesday morning when he landed at the New York Airport. The comedian landed in the city for a promotional event.

Brand flew from London to the New York city to promote his new film ‘Despicable Me’ on a radio show, after being premiered the film in London. The show was scheduled to aired on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, when he landed the airport in New York, he was detained by the US immigration officials, after which a questioning session followed. However, later he was released and allowed to enter the country. The news of his detention was learnt from Russell Brand’s updates on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

Immigration officials reportedly detained the British star because of his arrest last month in Los Angeles for alleged clash with a photographer. The hearing for this case is scheduled for next month.
