Canada’s Prince Edward Island Invites Foreign Skilled Workers and Businesspersons

On 15th October 2020, the Prince Edward Island Office of Immigration invited 211 eligible candidates to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program – which nominates foreign skilled workers and businesspersons for permanent residence in Canada.

Under the Business Impact Category, 27 candidates who scored 97 or more points based on various selection factors received invitations. This category is meant for experienced businesspersons and managers who wish to start a business in the province on a work-permit basis, and eventually become permanent residents.

The remaining 184 invitations were issued to candidates under the Labour Impact Category (for those who have a valid job offer from an employer in the province) and Canada Express Entry Category (for skilled workers who have a valid profile in the federal Express Entry System).

Those who meet eligibility Canada PR requirements for either category are required to submit an online Expression of Interest. The most qualified candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination through regularly held draws. To understand the detailed eligibility requirements
