FIR Against Former Goa Minister by CBI!

The former Tourism Minister of Goa, Xavier Mikky Pacheco with two other people have been charged of various offences by the CBI. These offences include forgery, cheating and producing fake documents to traffic illegal migration of Indians to the United States. As per the FIR set by the agency, Pacheco seems to have walked in an unlawful conspiracy with Daniel Raymond Fernandes, Pedro Antonio Joanes and a few other people who names are unknown. He entered this deal between 2007-08. He had also acquired visas for crew members as well from the US Consulate in Mumbai. These were obtained in the names of many unknown persons.

According to the FIR, all the activities were conducted based on the forged documents which led to the illegal migrants to travel to the United States. These forged documents were placed forth as being genuine.

According to Harsh Bhal, the CBI spokesperson, the accused people got the employment letters of the crewmen. These letters were acquired with the aid of Goa’s former Minister who was paid huge amounts of money for this. Further investigation is being done in this regard.

The case was registered by the CBI after it received a complaint against the above people from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security which is a unit of the US State Department. Pacheco has resigned as the Minister in June post allegations pertaining to his involving in the death of Nadia Torrado who was his companion. He was even arrested but has been released on bail.
